DAV Class 6 Maths Ch 5 WS 5 Solutions

Question 1.
Find the simple interest on ₹ 1300 at the rate of 5% per annum for 146 days.
Solution:
Here, P = ₹ 1300,
R = 5% p.a.,
T= 146 days
= \(\frac{146}{365}\) =\(\frac{2}{5}\) years
∴ Simple interest S.I. = \(\frac{\mathrm{P} \times \mathrm{R} \times \mathrm{T}}{100}\)
= DAV Class 6 Maths Chapter 5 Worksheet 5 Solutions 1
= ₹ 26
Hence, the required interest = ₹ 26.

Question 2.
Find the amount Meena gets on depositing ₹ 1500 at 8% per annum for 73 days.
Solution:
Here, P = ₹ 1500,
R = 8% p.a.,
T = 73 days
= \(\frac{73}{365}\) year
= \(\frac{1}{5}\) year
∴ Simple interest S.I. = \(\frac{\mathrm{P} \times \mathrm{R} \times \mathrm{T}}{100}\)
= \(\frac{1500 \times 8 \times 1}{100 \times 5}\)
= ₹ 24
Amount = P + S.I
= ₹ 1500 + ₹ 24 = ₹ 1524
Hence the required amount deposited = ₹ 1524.

Question 3.
What amount will Reena get by investing ₹ 4500 at 4 \(\frac{1}{2}\) % per annum for the period from September 8 to November 20 of the year 2015?
Solution:
Here, P = 4500,
R = 4\(\frac{1}{2}\) % p.a.
= \(\frac{9}{2}\) p.a.
T = From September 8 to November 20
T = 23 days of Sept. + 31 days of Oct. + 19 days of November
T = \(\frac{73}{365}\) year
= \(\frac{1}{5}\) year
∴ Simple interest, S.I. = \(\frac{\mathrm{P} \times \mathrm{R} \times \mathrm{T}}{100}\)
= \(\frac{4500 \times 9 \times 1}{100 \times 2 \times 5}\)
= ₹ 40.50
Amount = P + S.I.
= ₹ 4500 + ₹ 40.50 = ₹ 4540.50
Hence the required amount deposited = ₹ 4540.50.

Question 4.
Find the simple interest on 3500 at 4% per annum from 15 March to 18 August 2015.
Solution:
Here, P = ₹ 3500,
R = 4\(\frac{1}{2}\) % p.a.
= \(\frac{9}{2}\) p.a.
T = From 15 March to 8 August
T = 17 days of March + 30 days of April + 31 days of May + 30 days of June + 31 days of July + 7 days of August
∴ Simple interest, S.I. = \(\frac{\mathrm{P} \times \mathrm{R} \times \mathrm{T}}{100}\)
= \(\frac{3500 \times 9 \times 146}{100 \times 2 \times 365}\)
= ₹ 63.
