- We know about directions with the help of a compass. It has four basic points which are at the top and the bottom, and on the right and left sides of the compass. They are called the cardinal directions.
- These four cardinal directions are North, East, South, and West. They are used anywhere on the earth where there is a view of the sky.
- The ‘hand’ of the compass always points to the north (N), and from that point, one can locate the other directions.
