Answer:
Monkeys are more popular as street entertainers rather than as household pets because they are quite mischievous. They entertain people by jumping, dancing etc. Monkeys are good imitators too. So it is easy to train monkeys as compared to other animals. The street entertainers tie a rope round the monkey’s necks and hold the string in their hands while travelling from one place to another so that they could not trouble others. Dear Diary,
Today, when I was busy showing rings to a couple about to be engaged, I heard a squeal of delight. I turned around and to my horror spotted a monkey trying on a pearl necklace. It seems that the monkey had followed the boy who arrived with the couple. Meanwhile, before the guards or the salesman could react – the monkey ran out of the shop. We all ran behind it. Soon, a big/huge crowd assembled and also started following us. My heart was in my mouth. I felt as if I had lost my pearl necklace worth thousand of rupees to a rowdy monkey. She created quite a rucksuck in the market also. And then she plunged the necklace into the canal. We all dived straight after it. Finally, the customer who was there in my shop prior to the arrival of the monkey was able to locate it. As he handed me back the precious pearl necklace. I heaved a sigh of relief. Later on I came to know that her name was Tutu’.
