Find the radical axis of co-axial system of circles whose limiting points are (–1, 2) and (2, 3).

### Solution

3*x* + y – 4 = 0

Equations of circles with limiting points are (–1, 2) and (2, 3) are

(*x* + 1)^{2} + (*y* – 2)^{2} = 0

or *x*^{2} + *y*^{2} + 2*x* – 4*y* + 5 = 0 …(1)

and (*x* – 2)^{2} + (*y* – 3)^{2} = 0

or *x*^{2} + *y*^{2} – 4*x* – 6*y* + 13 = 0 …(2)

Respectively.

∴ Radical axis of circles (1) and (2) is

or 6*x* + 2*y* – 8 = 0

or 3*x* + y – 4 = 0
