Kings of India, known as “Rajas”, were the monarchs of their respective regions. Around the sixth century, there were 16 Mahajanapadas in India. The Rajas built forts in their capital cities to fortify their positions. They also introduced the system of taxation. Let us learn a little bit about these kingdoms and their kings.
