My dear Arun,
I have been trying to contact you on phone, but have not been able to get across to you. Probably your phone is out of order. There is an immediate problem, and I need your help. You would remember Rohit Sharma, who was our batch mate in ICSE. He is coming from America tomorrow, for spending his winter vacations with me. I had to go to the airport to receive him and had everything lined up.
Unfortunately, I have just received a letter from my cousin in Kolkata informing me of uncle’s illness. I have to therefore rush to Kolkata by the evening flight today. Hence I would not be able to receive Rohit, who is coming by the Indian Airlines, flight No. 432, which lands at the Amausi Airport at 6 AM tomorrow.
I would request you to receive him at the airport and bring him home. My mother shall be waiting for you all. Please explain the situation to Rohit, for I shall return in a day or two. In the meantime, you can give him company.
I am sorry for the above inconvenience, but I hope you shall take care of him till I return. Please do let me know if I could get anything for you from Kolkata besides the rassagullas, which you are so fond of.
Write a letter to your friend inviting him/her to attend the marriage of your brother.
