My dear Shweta,
I received your letter last week but was unable to reply, as I was busy with my half yearly exams. After the exams, I went with my friends to watch the movie, ‘The Lost World’. A movie on dinosaurs made by Steven Spielberg that has just been released. We bought the tickets and reached the theatre in the nick of time.
It was a splendid movie on dinosaurs that lived in an unknown island, far away from the continent. A team of scientists went there to study the environment and the behaviour of the dinosaurs. The news of this discovery also caught the attention of a team of hunters, who set forth to capture the dinosaurs, to rake in a fortune.
Initially the hunters were able to capture a few dinosaurs. However, soon the tide turned against them, when the dinosaurs took their revenge. The dinosaurs were so enraged by the hunters, that they killed most of them. The lucky ones that survived, decided to flee with their catch. The team of scientists on the other hand showed utmost concern for the dinosaurs, often endangering their own lives. The dinosaurs mistook them for hunters and turned their ire on them. Left with no alternative they also had to flee. They somehow reached a communication post, in the middle of the island.
Luckily the solar power radio was working and they made a distress call. Just as the dinosaurs were closing in on them, they were heroically picked up by a rescue helicopter. The hunters in the meantime had been successful in fleeing with one dinosaur and its baby. The ship that brought the dinosaurs to New York came crashing ashore, for the dinosaurs had eaten all the crew members. The dinosaur now roamed around the streets of New York, crushing everything from car to buses like match boxes, looking for its baby. Everyone was at their wits end, when suddenly it dawned on the scientist, that the only way to end the devastation, was to return the baby dinosaur to its mother. They located the baby dinosaur and cleverly placed it in a cage on a ship. The dinosaur came looking for it and was eventually caged in the ship, which set sail on its return voyage to release the dinosaurs in their natural habitat.
It was a movie full of imagination, very well conceived with a good script and screenplay. It took us million of years back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. In a very subtle but effective manner it portrays the evil of civilisation and explicitly brings out what could happen if the dinosaurs were to return. The movie was made marvellous, with excellent sound effects and photographic techniques. It left a deep impression in my mind. You should also see this movie, which I am sure you will like.
