My Dear Anil,
I am indeed very sorry for what happened yesterday. Believe me, I had no intention of hurting your feelings, when I snapped back at you during recess.
Actually I was feeling very upset, on being reprimanded by the class .teacher, for not completing my project work. While I was brooding over this, you had thumped my back, asking me to come to the school canteen. In my disturbed state of mind, I snapped back at you, feeling angry over your insensitivity. I later realised that your offer was well intentioned, so as to draw me out of my misery.
You had acted like a true friend, but I had misunderstood your intent. It has been years since we have known each other and I would not like this small incidence to come in the way of our friendship.
Please do forgive me for this lapse and join me for a small party in the canteen today. This would give me tremendous joy and strengthen our friendship.
