Rama to the Rescue Summary in English & Hindi
Rama to the Rescue Class 6 Summary in English
One night in a village, a man returned home exhausted and sleepily complained about his hard day to his wife. His wife, however, was alert and asked him to listen carefully, suspecting that someone was trying to break into their house.
The man, assuming it was a thief, advised her to lie down and ignore it. The thief, having entered the house, overheard their conversation and thought they were discussing their money.
To avoid detection, he waited silently, hoping they would fall asleep. The man and his wife, meanwhile, discussed what to name their child. They decided on the name “Rama” if the baby was a boy.
The wife called out softly, “Rama! Rama!” hoping to lure the thief away from any potential hiding spots. As she increased her volume, the thief became increasingly frustrated, wishing they would stop talking and go to sleep.
Rama, the village kotwal (police officer), heard his name being called and rushed to investigate. Realising the situation, he found and arrested the thief, who had hoped the couple’s distraction would allow him to steal unnoticed.
Rama successfully apprehended the thief, showcasing his vigilance and quick response.
